VPN Setup

Browse to https://cnsvpn.ucdavis.edu/?src=connect

Enter your Kerberos username and password, check that Connect is selected in the dropdown box and press go

Press click here to continue.  The download of the OpenVPN client will now begin

After the download has completed launch the installer.  You may need to enter administrator credentials at this point.  The installer should complete without any other prompts.

Ensure that Don’t ask again is checked and press Yes when prompted to allow VPN connection to hvpn.ucdavis.edu

If the connection is successful a green check should appear over the OpenVPN icon in the taskbar and your browser windows should display your VPN details

Connecting to VPN

For all subsequent connection the VPN you can browse to https://cnsvpn.ucdavis.edu/?src=connect

Enter your Kerberos username and password, check that Connect is selected in the dropdown box and press go.

Since the client is now installed it will connect straight away

Alternatively you can connect to the VPN by using the client in your taskbar.

Click the OpenVPN  icon select cnsvpn.ucdavis.edu and click Connect

Enter your Kerberos credentials and press Connect

If the connection is successful a green check should appear over the OpenVPN icon in the taskbar

Disconnect the VPN

To disconnect from the VPN you can click the Disconnect button in your browser window.

If you closed this window you can bring it back by browsing to https://cnsvpn.ucdavis.edu/?src=connect  or you can click the OpenVPN icon in the taskbar and select Disconnect cnsvpn.ucdavis.edu
